Im sure by now you;ve celebs and people all over pouring buckets of water in support of ALS.Before you go pouring ice water on yourself do you know what ALS is?Have you done your research or you just want to follow another social media craze.

For those who have no clue what ASL stands for and means heres a break down.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)—also referred to as motor neurone disorder (MND), Charcot disease, and, in the United States, Lou Gehrig‘s disease—is a neurodegenerative disease with various causes. It is characterised by muscle spasticity, rapidly progressive weakness due to muscle atrophy, and difficulty in speaking (dysarthria), swallowing (dysphagia), and breathing (dyspnea). ALS is the most common of the five motor neuron diseases. The disorder causes muscle weakness and atrophy throughout the body due to the degeneration of the upper and lower motor neurons. Individuals affected by the disorder may ultimately lose the ability to initiate and control all voluntary movement, although bladder and bowel function and the muscles responsible for eye movement are usually spared until the final stages of the disorder.(courtesy of Wikipedia).
The ice water numbs you and for just a minute you experience what a person with ALS experiences until they succumb to the disease. So its important you use both if you are doing the challenge. Heres videos of  some famous faces in the African Community.
